Sports Premium

The government is providing funding of £320 million per annum for this academic year, to improve provision of Physical Education (PE) and Sport in primary schools.  This funding is being jointly provided by the Department for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and will be allocated to primary school Headteachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all children.  The sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.

Purpose of funding
Schools will have to spend the sport funding on improvingtheir provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to chose how they do this, providing they are used to meet 5 key indicators.
